Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
