Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
