Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 The living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
