Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
