In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 and the severally severing 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 As justification or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 till a known term decreed? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
