Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 and the severally severing 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
