Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 separating one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
