Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 And those that strike violently, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
