In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 separating one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 As justification or warning, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
