Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
