Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 As justification or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
