Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
