In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
