Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
