Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 and the severally severing 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
