Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
