Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
