Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 Till a limit known? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
