In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 until an appointed time? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
