Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 storming tempestuously 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 until an appointed time? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
