Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
