Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those that strike violently, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
