Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
