In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known extent. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
