In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
