Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 As justification or warning, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
