In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 and the severally severing 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 excusing or warning, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
