Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
