Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 and the severally severing 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 As justification or warning, 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed time? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
