In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
