Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 and the severally severing 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for an appointed time? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
