Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 So like golden camels." 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
