Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 As justification or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
