Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
