In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
