Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 and the severally severing 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
