Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
