Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
