Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
