Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
