Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
