Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 So like golden camels." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
