Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
