Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
