In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 And those that strike violently, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 separating one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed time? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
