Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 and the severally severing 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
