In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
