Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
