Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 As justification or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
