Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a known calculated term. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
